Walk Leader Jeff, sends the following updated information:
I am advised by the Lifeguards in West Kirby, to start the walk to Hilbre Island at 11 a.m. on Saturday 5th July, and leave the island no later than 3 p.m. Walking to the islands takes about one hour and one hour back to West Kirkby.
Meet at Maghull Station at 9.15 a.m. and take the next train to Central, then change to the West Kirby train. If you decide to travel by car, please let me know.
You would need to park your car, avoiding Morrison’s car park as there is a time limit and be at the slipway onto the sand for the start at 11 a.m.
There are a couple of compostable toilets on Hilbre but NO WATER, to drink or wash hands.
We will have a relaxing lunch, enjoying the views around Hilbre Island.
After the walk, we get a train back to Maghull. What time train is up to each person, as some may want a drink in Wetherspoons, or visit a café in West Kirby.
