Meet at 10:30am at the Weld Blundell Pub, Lydiate for a 5.9m E3 walk to Ormskirk, returning by bus or train.

This is a 6 mile linear walk from Lydiate to Ormskirk. No stiles. 3 short low level uphill gradients, using country lanes and footpaths.
Start. Moss Lane Lydiate (meet at the Weld Blundell Pub Lydiate, which is on the corner of Moss Lane). There is roadside parking available but also the 31/31a circular bus stops outside the Weld Blundell pub and we will return via Ormskirk train station to Maghull. You can then catch a bus from Maghull station back to the Weld Blundell for those who have left their cars there. For those travelling by bus to the start, please check the bus timetable as the times change throughout the day. The bus terminus is at Maghull Train station.
Pleasant walk from Lydiate up to Clieves Hill with good views, weather permitting, over Blackpool, Liverpool and the Welsh Hills. We continue up to Gorse Hill reservoir then on into Ormskirk where the walk finishes. There are plenty of cafés, shops etc. if anyone would like to stop for refreshments. Packed lunch and drink needed plus the usual walking attire.
