Meet at 9.15am at Maghull Square for an 8.3m E3 walk to the Tawd Valley and Newburgh.
This is a pleasant, easy walk through West Lancashire countryside, some woodland, the picturesque village of Newburgh, and a canal towpath.
We get the 310 bus to Skelmersdale from Maghull Square at 9.30 a.m. The bus arrives at Ormskirk Bus Station at about 9.58 a .m, where any Lancastrians are welcome to join us, before continuing to Skelmersdale.
After leaving Skelmersdale Bus Station, we are out in the countryside within a few minutes and make our way, mainly on paths through fields and canal towpath, arriving eventually at Burscough Bridge.
From here we travel by local bus back to Ormskirk. There, you will have the option of joining us for refreshments at Wetherspoons, before returning to Maghull by bus or train.
